The Ogun State Chapter of the Association of Water Well Drilling Rig Owners and Practitioners (AWDROP) on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, House of Representatives Member representing Yewa North/Imeko/Afon Federal Constituency in Abuja.
The delegation, led by AWDROP Ogun Chairman, Mr. Olufemi Gbolahan, included State Secretary Akiode Hassan, State Welfare Officer Shittu Abiodun Raman, and South-South Region Vice President Denis Nwenonye.
During the visit, they discussed potential partnerships to improve access to potable water and ensure effective borehole monitoring in Ogun State, particularly in areas plagued by water scarcity.
In response, Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka emphasized the importance of water access for the people of Ogun, particularly in Egua and Oja Odan.
He noted that numerous borehole projects exist in these areas and expressed interest in collaborating with AWDROP to monitor and sustain these initiatives effectively.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to address the challenges surrounding borehole maintenance and water accessibility in Yewa and other water-deficient communities across Ogun State in line with Sustainable Development Goal 6 of the United Nations
