The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspects found with suspected human tongues during a routine stop-and-search operation at Otedola Bridge on October 15, 2024.
Isah Amohullahi, 30, and Abubakar Isah, 32, were apprehended while traveling in a taxi, while further investigations led to the identification and arrest of Gbolahan Temidayo, who allegedly sold the human parts to Amohullahi and Isah. Temidayo was captured at Oyingbo Market in Lagos.
Lagos State Police Spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrests, emphasizing the serious nature of the crime. The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) is handling the investigation, which is ongoing at the Command headquarters.
The police are urging the public to report any suspicious activities linked to organ trafficking and other criminal enterprises. This arrest demonstrates the police’s commitment to tackling organ trafficking and ensuring public safety.
