The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State has taken a significant step towards securing victory in the upcoming local government election, scheduled for November 16.
On Wednesday, the party inaugurated its Campaign Council, comprising experienced grassroots leaders from the 12 wards in the local government. The ceremony took place at the APC secretariat.
Chief Sowunmi, Ogun State Senatorial Chairman of the party, presided over the inauguration, emphasizing the council’s mandate to ensure a resounding victory. He urged the council to adopt an inclusive strategy, accommodating all stakeholders.
Hon. Dele Erisan, a former Ogun State House of Assembly member, was appointed Director General of the Campaign Council. Other notable members include Dr. Femi Akinbile, Hon. Fatai Mustapha, Chief Sola Oteshile, and Hon. Lukman Sanyaolu.
Hon. Erisan charged the committee members to focus on issues that would enhance the party’s chances, avoiding distractions. Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina “Lanre FCPA,” the APC Chairmanship candidate, expressed gratitude to party members and reiterated his commitment to delivering democracy’s dividends.
Adesina thanked Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for the opportunity to serve, promising to work diligently. The APC leadership in Obafemi-Owode is now set to intensify campaign efforts.
