The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) South West Region, also known as Zone D, has elected new leaders during its convention in Akure, Ondo State.
Comrade Owolewa Taiwo of Ekiti Axis emerged as the Coordinator after securing 58 votes, while Comrade Kazeem Olamilekan Israel of Osun Axis garnered 2 votes, with 1 vote declared void.
Comrade Adegoke Naheem Ademola was unanimously elected as Deputy Coordinator, while Comrade O’Destiny won the office of General Secretary unopposed.

Other elected officials include Comrade Ogunyemi Azeez Olayemi as Director of Sports and Ambani Idowu Olatunji Alexander as Director of Special Duties.
Comrade Ridwan Ademola Adegoke, immediate past Chairman of NANS Oyo State Axis, won the seat of Contact and Mobilization Secretary.
Comrade Kuku Isaiah Eromidayo was elected Public Relations Officer.
The convention was chaired by Comrade Awowole Samuel, with Comrade Wande Ajayi serving as Convention Secretary.
Distinguished guests attended the convention, including Comrade Sunday Asefon, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement; Honourable Odebunmi Idowu, Member of Ekiti State House of Assembly; and Comrade Abosede Oluwaseun, former Senior Special Assistant to Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola on Student Engagement.
The election marked a significant milestone for NANS Zone D, paving the way for new leadership to address the concerns and interests of Nigerian students in the South West Region.
